Cardiac Intensive Care Unit

We feel privileged to have an excellent team of highly experienced pediatric cardiologists at the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) of Rainbow Children’s Heart Institute to attend to our little patients who need specialized care for their cardiac issues.

Children with a heart condition who have had a heart surgery, may usually need intensive care service. The CICU team is well-equipped to look after children requiring mechanical cardiac support or who undergo heart transplantation. By tapping into their extensive knowledge and experience, they are able to ensure the most optimistic outcome for the children under treatment.

We have on board a team of cardiac intensivists, cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, cardiac anesthesiologists, perfusionists, nurses and respiratory therapists who work in tandem with your family to serve your child’s needs.

At Rainbow Children’s Heart Institute, we offer the most advanced facilities to facilitate our experts’ team whose efficient and dynamic decision making in the CICU helps to quickly and accurately examine a child’s case before administering refined, specialized care.

We have also been acknowledged as the pioneers in teaching and training physicians who are committed to the treatment of children with critical cardiac disease. As part of this unique training program, we educate those physicians who have already acquired a qualification in critical care, cardiology, anesthesia, neonatology, and cardiac surgery, by teaching them about the intrinsic aspects of looking after a patient population which has complex needs and interventions.
